My Story

Photography has been part of my story for as long as I can remember. I picked up my first camera at nine years old. I instantly fell in love with capturing the world around me. All throughout middle school and high school I found my place behind the camera as part of yearbook, drawn to documenting life as it unfolded naturally.

After high school, that passion quickly took a backseat, tucked away, but never fully gone. In 2024, everything changed when my husband surprised me with a camera for Christmas. He knew how deeply I wanted to revive my love for Photography and encouraged me to

step into something I have always felt called to pursue.

What began with photographing close friends grew into photographing clients, inspired by the people and surroundings that continue to remind me of beauty, purpose, and intention. From that place Megan Thorson Photography was born. What once began as a childhood hobby has now grown into my greatest passion, capturing life through God's eyes just as it was intended.

I'm drawn to storytelling moments soaked in golden hour light. Families gathered close, moms-to-be embracing motherhood, couples saying "I do", and seniors standing on the edge of what's next. Every session means more to me than simply taking photos. It's an opportunity to preserve connection, emotion, and beauty in real life. My goal is to tell your story through my lens. Capturing images that feel true to who you are and photos that will last a lifetime.
